About Us

UKFurnitureStores.org.uk is an independent UK portal and guide aiming to provide information on which online (and sometimes offline) stores in the UK are the best and trusted places to buy furniture.

We try to give you a very broad a choice, including the popular high street furniture shops, well established online retailers and popular catalogue and department stores that sell a wide range of furniture. Not all stores are accepted and our reviewers follow a set of strict guidelines (which include the STAR Approved criteria highlighted on our home page and suggest a site page):

  • Stores need to be focussed on the UK market and based in the UK (no point ordering furniture piece from abroad).
  • Online ordering needs to be safe & secure.
  • Full contact information, including address, needs to be clearly explained on their website. If we do list shops that don't display a telephone number online (some only have a contact form or online chat facility), we will normally have that number available ourselves in case we need to follow up on an issue or problem reported by one of our visitors.
  • Delivery information needs to be displayed and transparent. We do however understand that a lot of furniture retailers can only provide you with an estimated delivery date when you order an item which needs to be custom build.
  • All the furniture sold need to be authentic. I.e. if solid oak is advertised, the item needs to be made of genuine solid oak.
  • Price need to be clearly displayed in £, the website needs to be easy to use and the ordering procedure needs to be straight forward.
  • If stores are offering free credit then this needs to be regulated and the information displayed needs to be transparent (i.e. is the credit interest free or at which APR).
